a great weekend

I had a terrible week, so I was so very happy when the weekend rolled around. We woke up on Saturday and lazed around for a little bit, it was such a beautiful day, we loaded up the girls and headed to my parents house on the lake. It almost felt like Spring outside @ 50 degrees. The drive up there is really nice, especially when the weather is great.

my mom's yummy chocolate cake

On Sunday, we went to the Razorback baseball game, Chad got some awesome tickets from a guy at work. It was such a great day for a baseball game. I love baseball, it one of the only sports that I feel like I honestly understand.I loved sitting next to the scouts and seeing how fast the pitcher could throwIt was a 3 day tournament, a close 3rd game, but we won!
All in all a great weekend, hopefully this week will be better to me!

Spring Inspiration

Loving the spring colors used in these rooms, makes me want to head to Lowes and paint room!

So excited...

The Real Housewives of NYC is coming back next week!! I am so addicted to these shows, it is ridiculous. NYC is by far my favorite. I love Bethany and love to hate Kelly. I still watch housewives of O.C. too, but never got into Atlanta. I hate that I love reality shows so much, but I just can't help it. I swore that I would stop watching MTV by the time I was 25, but I still find myself watching The Hills and The City. Anyway, the housewives are back next Thursday, my DVR will be set!

Wall Art

The main wall in our living room has been a struggle decorating wise for me since we have moved in. I purchased a piece of framed art from Kirkland's and it just didn't look quite right, I have tried almost everything, the space is just so big. This past week, I found these resin medallions at Hobby Lobby for 80% off! They were originally $59.99 each! They are so heavy, I had to call in the big guns, and ask the hubs to help. Now, when I hang a picture, mirror, just about anything, I am the queen of eyeballing it. If it looks like the middle, good enough for me. So, meet the anti-eyeballer, he has sporadic OCD, I say this because his side of the bed is always a mess, along with his truck and dirty laundry (hello!, why is it on the floor next to the hamper? just pick it up and place it in there!). But when it comes to measuring it is quite a feat. Two hours or so later, I had 4 medallions equally spaced on my wall. What a guy! Laser level with measuring tape all in one, very helpful!

seriously, he had a mini drawing with all the measurement down to 1/8"! The final product, I am finally happy with that wall!

Perfect Paring...

I have many, many favorite things, but when it comes to famous chefs, hands down, its the beautiful Giada De Laurentiss

My husband thinks I'm obsessed and I do not deny this. Kinda creepy? Anyway, I just think she is so lovely and her show on the Food network just makes me want to cook. Its the only cooking show hubs will watch with me, I just can't quite figure out why that is...
Hmmm...

And when it comes to spending money, my absolute favorite place to shop for about everything, is Target. Now, this infuriates my husband because he works for a competing store. I just can't help going there, its like they market everything for women to want to buy. So smart!

So, when these two forces came together, you can understand how excited I got. She has a whole aisle in Target, not only with cookware, but food too! I really want the cream colored bakeware and a couple of her utensils. Such a great idea. I'm sure I'm not the only one out there with this obsession, am I?

Happy Fat Tuesday!!

I was born & raised in Louisiana, I remember going to mardi gras with my parents and catching the beads from my dad's shoulder and watching all of the craziness. I absolutely love New Orleans and we go back to visit whenever we have a chance.
I am so happy for "Dem Saints" for winning the Super Bowl, they totally earned it!! In the spirit of Fat Tuesday and because I love celebrity stalking here are some pics of celebrities partying NoLa style... Paris and her Hills dude, Doug Reinert.

My favorite, Harry Connick Jr.
Kate Hudson and son, Ryder

and lastly, Ol Brit, another Louisiana native.
when we travel to New Orleans, We go through Britney's hometown of Kentwood.
She's a super celeb around there, everyone knows someone that's related to her.

To blog or not to blog?

As usual, I am a late bloomer. I have been sucked into the blogging world. It all started with one and then I became a "blog stalker". I just find them so interesting and helpful along with inspirational and hilarious. I debated back and forth with myself. Is it too self absorbed, vain, narcissistic? Yes, yes, and yes. But, what the heck. If I enjoy reading them so much, I am going to give actually having a blog a try. So, here we go...

I am going to make this blog a blog that I would want to read everyday. It will be about cooking, decorating, movies, books, celebrities, beauty, fashion, shopping, traveling, TV, and maybe a little about my life and family(I'm nervous about this part). So, if anybody is out there... hi mom!, I hope you enjoy. I hope this is a good way to keep a sort of diary for myself. And because I hate a post with no pics, here is a picture of my and my better half at a Razorback game last fall.
