{Food Faves}

I am a food freak, and as much as I enjoy gourmet food, I love some pre packaged bad-for you items as well. Here are some things that I have stumbled across the past few years and are now a staple in my pantry or fridge. Totally aware of the lameness of this post, but I love a good foodie post!{found this mayo with cracked pepper the other day, a little hesitant, but its amazing}
{ I have made countless batches of homemade mac n cheese, and this is perfection plus- no hassle}

{OMG, the best peanut butter on Earth, I want to stock up in case my grocery store stops selling it}

{I always have this in the fridge and a back up in the pantry, I can't stand it by itself, but I add it to cranberry, or any other juice and its delicious}

{The best snack ever, I get mine at Sam's in bulk}

{no words, but is excellent with the above peanut butter}

{I am a salt fiend, I had this salt in NYC at the Oyster Bar and I found it later at Dean & Delucca, smuggled it home on the plane, it was that good, yes I'm talking about salt}

{yummy Popchips, I am partial to the original flavor, they really are good, and I hate any sort of baked chip}

{Faux Sho}

I have been on the fence about the whole "faux fur" trend. I see the vests everywhere and, I really don't think I can pull it off. But I am warming up to it, and I am on the lookout for a faux fur vest. Most likely will be a Forever 21 purchase since I will probably wear it 1 or 2 times. Here are some celebrity inspirations and some other furry finds...{Olivia Palermo in a shaggy black fur vest}

{Eva Mendes taking the trend to a hippie level}

{Rachel Zoe's Black fur vest from her QVC line}

I bought these slippers, in place of the pricey Uggs, they are beyond comfy}

Meet Henry...

I recently lost my sweet dog, Penny. She was such a sweet forever puppy and I will miss her more than words can say. Not that loves of my life are replaceable, but I stumbled across this little guy- and he is helping to fill the hole in heart. I found Henry ( a chihuahua beagle dachshund mix) at the Humane society, someone had just dropped him off moments before I got there. They had found him wandering the streets, and at only around 9 weeks, and the cold weather that we had had the night before, I just couldn't walk away. He really is a sweet little soul, and although, I had completely forgotten how time consuming a puppy can be, he puts a smile on my face everyday!

Fall Favorites

Fall is finally here. The leaves are changing, falling, and the weather is getting cooler. I love it. I cannot believe that it is already mid October. This is my favorite time of year, plus my bday is right around the corner! Here are some fall inspired fashions, food, and anything else that just reminds me that fall has arrived.{OPI, You Don't Know Jaques, I have always been a Linkin Park after Dark fan, but this is more grey, perfect for fall outfits}

{Steve Madden Intyce boots, these are the perfect height, and I love the wedge heel}

{Love, Chloe, this perfume is just heavy enough for colder weather, powdery and spicy}

{My Anthropologie monogrammed mug...}

{filled with my new obsession, Chai Latte coffee creamer..yummy!}

{Quick Italian Wedding Soup}

I got this recipe from a Paula Deen magazine years ago. I make it every fall and it is delicious. I love having recipes on my blog so that I can refer back to them rather than digging through my stack of sticky, torn up magazine pages.
What you'll need:

2 tblspns butter
1 c. frozen chopped onions
1 c. crinkle cut carrots (I leave these out, not much of a carrot fan)
2 tspns minced garlic
2 boxes of low sodium chicken broth
1 16 oz package of frozen Italian meatballs
, baked according to pkg direction
1 can great northern bean, drained & rinsed
1 c ditalini pasta
6 oz bag of baby spinach
1/2 c. shd parmesan

In a large Dutch oven, melt butter over medium-high heat. Add onion onion, carrot, and garlic; cook for 4 to 5 minutes, stirring frequently, or until carrots are tender. Add broth, meatballs, and beans; bring to a boil over medium high heat. Add pasta, reduce heat, and simmer for 6 to 8 min. or until pasta is tender. Add spinach and cheese, cook for 1 to 2 min, or until spinach is wilted.

Serve with french bread and a little parmesan on top!

Yum!

{Color Blocking}

This color blocking trend is everywhere. I love the idea. Sometimes I just see colors that don't seem like they should go together, but somehow they do. It just works. I don't know if there is a trick to it, using a color wheel or something fancy or if it is just effortless. Either way, I'm liking it. Here are some celebrity color blocking inspirations.{Kristin Cavallari }
{Pink, red, and white, somehow it works on SJP}

{Carey Mulligan in Roksanda, love the red shoes!}

{Pippa Middleton going casual in this Zara dress}

{Olivia Palermo in DKNY}

{Emily Blunt in Prada}

{I think I'll play it safe and start with a shoe, like this Aldo VIA}

{Or this Jessica Simpson Collection, suede heel, so cute!}

Hair Inspiration

So, I am officially growing my hair out. About 2 years ago, I let my hair get the longest that it has ever been, and then I chopped almost 12 inches of it off to donate to locks of love. That was a lot of hair! I have always been a fan of the chin length bob my whole life. But now that my hair is touching my shoulders, in that weird- not long but not short length, I'm just going to let it grow. Maybe now that I'm not in scrubs everyday, I can actually fix it and not just throw it up in a giant mess on top of my head. Here are some inspirations for my future hair length.{Love this length on Jessica Beil, by the time my hair gets this long, this ombre look will be so over}
{This is a little long, but love the bangs on Zooey}

{I have always been obsessed with this haircut on Reese, these bangs are perfection}

{Love, love, love this side ponytail on Katie Holmes}

{SJP's hair is so beautiful here, this is about the thickness of my hair, so its the most realistic, love the messy waves}
